Survey: Cloyes Remains the Most Preferred Brand of Timing Components

FORT SMITH, Ark., March 26, 2019 – In a recent survey of Engine Builder magazine readers, Cloyes Gear and Products was found to be the most recognizable brand in the timing components category. Fifty-three percent of the 4,700 Engine Builder readers responded ‘Cloyes’ as their first answer when asked to name the top three brands of timing components they most often buy. The closest other brand registered only 20 percent of first mentions.

“With more than 97 years of manufacturing, distributing, and marketing of timing components and complete kits, Cloyes has become, and maintained its position, as the number one choice of timing products for professional technicians and engine builders,” said Brian Wheeler, vice president of business development and marketing for Cloyes. “It’s an honor to see our teams’ commitment to engineering high-quality products for the global automotive market; ensuring on-time, accurate deliveries; and supporting our customers with responsive customer service and aftersales support is recognized by Engine Builder’s readers.”

Fifty-one of respondents also stated the primary reason for choosing a timing components brand was the brand’s reputation for quality, while 28 percent stated experience with the product led to purchases of a brand’s timing components.

The complete 2018 Buying Behavior Survey can be found on Page 31 of the December 2018 issue of Engine Builder magazine.
